Dr. Scott began practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Asheville, NC in 1993. After 20 years of providing care to women in Asheville, Dr. Scott made the brave decision to step away from active daily practice in order to reflect, renew, and redirect in both her personal and professional life. During 2014, Dr. Scott obtained a second board certification in Integrative Holistic Medicine. At the same time, Dr. Scott also became a Certified Menopause Practitioner through the North American Menopause Society. Through her years of practice and continued education, Dr. Scott knows that lifestyle is an integral part of health and wellness. In order to assist women in their pursuit of health and wellness through practical lifestyle changes, Dr. Scott became a certified facilitator of the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP). To hone in on her specialty in Gynecology, Dr. Scott completed advanced training through the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
Since January 2014, Dr. Scott also pursued several personal goals before returning to practice at Asheville Gynecology and Wellness. During her time away from full-time practice, she volunteered at the ABCCM Medical Clinic. In the summer of 2014, she traveled to Cusco, Peru where she participated in mission work through CerviCusco, an organization dedicated to improving care for women with cervical disease. To further develop her wilderness abilities, she completed a 2-week course in Light Backpacking in New Mexico taught by the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).

I have studied nutrition for over ten years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition-Dietetics with honors from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I have also studied Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health and am pursuing a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Bridgeport. I have experience with whole foods and plant based cooking, meal planning, dietary food log analysis, goal setting, special dietary restrictions, eating disorders and more. I am also a RYT 200 certified yoga instructor and currently teach at Anjali Hot Yoga and Anjali East Yoga studios in Asheville. My philosophy on food is that it is the foundation of health. At all times we are able to make choices that either fuel health or fuel disease. That being said, I believe everything in moderation is vital. It is important to allow yourself to be human, make mistakes, have cheat days and most of all have fun. To me, this is what good health is all about. Sarah is Dr. Scott's daughter. She graduated from Veritas Christian Academy in 2015 and is attending Cornell University. She intends to become a veterinarian. After years of working in veterinary offices, she was an invaluable asset in the months leading up to the opening of Asheville Gynecology & Wellness. She worked in her mother’s new office until she headed off to school in mid-August. Sarah enjoys the outdoors and she is a competitive rock climber.
